In this show I am joined by Yvonne Bunn and we talk about homeschooling in the early days, homeschooling conventions, and getting started in homeschooling.
Meet Yvonne Bunn
Yvonne Bunn—HEAV’s director of homeschool support and director of government affairs—works with HEAV’s legislative team to protect and improve Virginia’s homeschool laws. She also works with a network of local support groups to provide accurate, up-to-date information to homeschoolers. Yvonne has developed a Homeschool Success Seminar series that she has shared at many homeschool conferences throughout Virginia and in a weeklong series on the nationally syndicated Homeschool Heartbeat. On behalf of HEAV, she coordinates HEAV’s annual Day at the Capitol. Yvonne also spearheaded HEAV’s efforts in the General Assembly to pass the first homeschool license plate in the nation. In 1992, she received Home School Legal Defense Association’s “Outstanding Service” award. Yvonne has a degree in elementary education and taught high school prior to homeschooling for 18 years. Yvonne and her husband, George, have five children and twelve grandchildren.
